Factors affecting heart beat rate and therefore blood pressure
Heart beat rate increases during active exercise. This is as a result of lowering the pH of the blood due to high levels of carbon dioxide and low oxygen levels.

Lowering the body temperature lowers the heart rate, raising the body temperature increases the heart rate.

Emotional stress (due to anxiety, anger and laughter) increases blood pressure.

Injuries and wounds to the body increase blood pressure.

Infections and failures of other body organs can increase blood pressure. For example, overactivity of the thyroid gland increases the heart rate. Underactivity of the thyroid has the opposite affect.

Age and gender also affect blood pressure.
